OUR TEES ARE USING CLEANER COTTON™
The Sustainable Cotton Project (SCP) is an internationally recognized U.S. farm-based program dedicated to changing the way cotton, one of the world's most widely traded commodities, is farmed and marketed.
SCP connects growers, manufacturers and consumers to develop a Cleaner Cotton™ supply chain in the United States. Founded in 1996, SCP works with innovative growers to produce a high-quality fiber without using the most toxic pesticides and herbicides in agriculture.
SCP performs its work in a spirit of "Cooperation for a change." The organization provides growers with information about sustainable cotton farming processes and Integrated Pest Management technologies.
Supporters educate the public about the importance of reducing chemical use in this important fiber and food product.
The goal of SCP is to lessen the toll that the soil-to-shirt cotton production process takes on the earth's air, water, and soil, and the health of people in cotton growing areas.
